Barbara McDuffie is the managing director of business development for the tax and assurance group of Baker Tilly, a national accounting and consulting firm headquartered in Chicago.  Baker Tilly has over 2500 employees in 29 cities. With the addition of offices in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, her outreach has expanded from the Washington DC metropolitan area to the East Region. 

Barbara is a past chairman of NAIOP Northern Virginia, where she remains active on the board and as a mentor in the Developing Leaders Program. She worked with other past NAIOP chairmen to establish a Masters of Real Estate Development program at George Mason University and serves on the board. She recently completed her third term as a member of NAIOP corporate’s board of directors and was named a governor of the Research Foundation. She was Member of the Year for NAIOP in 1992 and most recently in 2014. She is a former board member of the Virginia Association for Commercial Real Estate (VACRE), served as president of the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance (NVTA) and is a current member of its governance board.   Since 2010, Barbara has served on the ULI Trends Committee. She is a founder and serves as co-chair of Lombardi Women & Wine annual dinner, benefitting breast cancer research and has served as a co-chair of the Corporate Committee for the Lombardi Gala. She was the 2012 recipient of the Margaret L. Hodges Leadership Award.  Barbara co-chaired the 2009 and 2010 CoreNet Mid–Atlantic Gala, where she also served as the master of ceremonies. Barbara has served on the Advisory Board for CREW Washington DC and was on the board of directors for two terms. She was awarded the CREW Washington DC Impact Award in 2014. In 2013, Barbara was also invited to join the board of the 2030 Group which was founded by Bob Buchanan to promote regionalism. She also serves on the board of the Tysons Partnership. Barbara has served as recruitment chair for the Corporate Committee for the Trust for the National Mall and was the 2012 and 2017 co-chair of the Corporate Committee. She has previously served on advisory boards for the Historic Charleston Foundation, the National Museum for Women in the Arts and the Rosslyn BID.

Barbara spent four years living in Paris and London with her husband. While living in Paris, she was on the founding committee for Les Amis du National Museum of Women in the Arts, organized marketing and journalism seminars for Northwestern University graduate students and chaired fundraisers for the American University in Paris and Helen Keller Worldwide. Barbara and her husband spend as much time as possible at home on Kiawah Island with the family enjoying the beach, golf and kayaking on the Kiawah River.
