As a young real estate professional, Joyce Frazier and former CREW Dallas member Myrna Nichols cobbled together a small networking group for women in commercial real estate focused on the North Dallas corridor. These women spent countless hours discussing opportunities, sharing leads, and learning the ropes from more experienced CREW members. The group’s attendees fluctuated as members left the industry or retired, but Frazier worked hard to foster and maintain these connections.

The North Dallas Networking Group was revamped in 2013, inviting women in the industry to share Frazier’s knowledge and build the next generation of women in commercial real estate. Affectionately dubbed "The Connector" for her ability to bring out information and leads during networking sessions, Frazier helps open doors for the group’s members.

One example of Frazier’s connecting abilities comes from Sharon Herrin, CREW Dallas’ Outstanding Award winner for 2017. Early on in Herrin’s career, the two had a weekly standing breakfast where they would discuss various business and networking opportunities. It was Frazier that introduced Herrin to fellow CREW members Janice Peters and Michelle Hudson of Hudson Peters Commercial. Shortly thereafter, these new friends helped Herrin sell three buildings on the same street, which simultaneously kick-started her career.

Another example comes from Frazier’s longtime friend and fellow CREW Dallas member Kaye McCallum. As one of the first people Frazier met in the industry, McCallum was representing a client that wanted to lease space in a Jackson Shaw building. These women had an immediate connection and before long, McCallum had successfully completed Frazier’s first space planning project. To this day, Frazier sets the bar based on McCallum’s work.

Frazier has been making a long-lasting impact on the Dallas-Fort Worth real estate community since 1984, having served as “The Connector” for CREW Dallas members resulting in countless successful deals. Members of the North Dallas Networking group have completed deals ranging in size from 5,000 to 150,000 square feet, helping to improve building occupancies in that market from zero to 100. With more than 500 years of collective experience in commercial real estate, their transactions have totaled more than $100 million.
