Duane Morris LLP is a law firm that represents clients across the U.S. and around the world. Keren Marti, CREW Miami President and National Account Manager at First American Title Insurance Company, received a call from the firm, inquiring about title work and requesting a referral for Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments. The firm was interested in purchasing two properties, one located in Pennsylvania and the other in North Carolina.
When considering referrals, Marti immediately thought of Candace Chin Fatt, CREW Fort Lauderdale/Boca Raton President and Geologist and Regional Manager for PM Environmental Inc. Chin Fatt took Marti’s call while on vacation and made the time to provide her with quote estimates. Duane Morris LLP made the decision to proceed with both PM Environmental Inc. and First American Title Insurance Company.
“Candace and I met at a CREW Network Leadership Summit two years ago and when the opportunity arose to refer my client to her, I didn’t think twice,” Marti said.

Chin Fatt was not only an excellent referral because of her extensive knowledge of environmental consulting, but also because of her connection to the specific properties that Duane Morris LLP was purchasing. Chin Fatt is an avid competitive cyclist, and both out-of-state properties were bicycle product warehouses. She was aware of the impending closure of the business which owned the warehouses, due to her personal connection to the company.
The team successfully closed on the purchases of both sites in February 2019. Marti stressed the importance of getting to know fellow CREW Network members so that referrals happen more frequently and end in successful transactions.
At the expense of a little vacation time, Chin Fatt has been connected through Marti to First American Title Insurance Company's Vice President and Division Area Manager of Due Diligence Services. Chin Fatt has received additional opportunities because of her outstanding performance, and Marti looks forward to working with her again in the future. “I knew she would be incredibly responsive and strengthen my role as a trusted advisor to my client,” she said.
