Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy and Principal of Carras Community Investment, Inc.
James has more than thirty years of professional experience in community and economic development including consulting, teaching, training, and pro bono assistance. Carras has created or enhanced affordable housing and community development funding/financing initiatives valued at over $10 billion and is recognized nationally for the creation and expansion of over fifty development financial institutions and community investment initiatives. He has served as the Founding Executive Director of the National Association of Affordable Housing Lenders, the Founding President of the Broward Housing Partnership and the South Florida Community Land Trust. Carras is currently an Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy at Harvard University’s JFK School of Government.
