Member-to-Member Deal Story: MNCREW & CREW Utah
By Jennifer Goralski, CREW Orange County
Skye Cook, Director of Real Estate Advisory Services at Cushman & Wakefield | NorthMarq, and Gina Moore, Director of Industrial Brokerage at Cushman & Wakefield Commerce, worked together to accomplish one of the largest lease transactions in Las Vegas in 2014: a 678,000 sq. ft. lease renewal for Global Experience Specialists (GES), a subsidiary of Viad Corp.
Cook specializes in tenant representation and corporate real estate services in the office and industrial sectors of Minneapolis. She was not as well versed in the nuances of Las Vegas and knew it was critical to pull in a skilled team of CREW Network members with local market knowledge. Cook looked to Moore, an industrial specialist in the western markets, to pull together market information, conduct property tours and facilitate local developer meetings. Moore was also instrumental in negotiations, as she knew the multitude of landlords in the region.
Since the GES deal was announced, both Cook and Moore have noticed a positive impact on their businesses. They have increased recognition within their own firms and other industry professionals, as other brokers are now asking to consult with them on large, complicated transactions.
Cook and Moore recognize the importance of CREW Network to foster professional relationships and will continue to utilize the Network regularly. Both are active members in their respective CREW chapters. Cook has been a member of MNCREW since 2007, serving in multiple roles, including President of the chapter. She is also a licensed REALTOR® in Minnesota and is a member of the Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors (MNCAR). Moore is an active member of CREW Utah, serving two years on CREW Utah’s philanthropic committee.
