Fox Theatre | Egyptian Ballroom
Join CREW Network Foundation for an unforgettable evening of celebration, elegance, mystique and fun as we commemorate our silver anniversary year. Walk the red carpet through the historic Fox Theatre into the ornate Egyptian Ballroom, designed after a temple for Ramses II at Karnak, which later became Atlanta's most popular public dance hall in the 1940s.
The “Fox” opened in 1929 and was the finest movie theater in Atlanta in the 1940s. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and named a National Historic Landmark in 1976. Much of the original décor is intact and new pieces were created with the help of old photographs. Today, it is the only remaining movie palace in Atlanta.
