Arriving in Toronto earlier this week for our Spring Leadership Summit, I felt an energy in the city. The development here is booming and the city is a hotbed of commercial real estate opportunity. It’s the perfect place for CREW Network leaders to come together with an energy and synergy all their own.
Following our Board of Directors meetings Wednesday, we were warmly welcomed to the city by our Toronto CREW chapter at a dinner that evening. The local leaders gave generously of their time to meet with the CREW Network Board of Directors to share their insights on the local real estate market and their work on the chapter board. As I have said, collaboration and alignment are key to our success and our local hosts understand this more than anyone! They bring out their best efforts to support the Summit and share their city with CREW leaders from North America and the United Kingdom. It’s a testament to the strength of the Network!

Our Thursday Best Practices session focused on key chapter initiatives that are being led by the best and brightest in our organization. Paula Beasley, CREW Dallas spoke about the exceptional CREW Careers program that the chapter conducts with local schools, Martha Carpenter from CREW New Mexico shared the great success their chapter has had with their mentoring program, and Courtney Ryan, CREW Denver, provided useful insight and tactics for ensuring member value. Moderated by 2017 CREW Network President Alison Beddard, the packed room buzzed with terrific follow up questions and great discussion about how other chapters can implement these programs. The Network builds community with shared success.

Late in the day, the momentum was still strong when members gathered for small group discussions with board leaders. This is a tremendously vital time for us to share information to ensure greater connectivity and collaboration throughout our Network of chapters and affiliates. I had the distinct pleasure of hosting a terrific group of members to share conversation and ideas. It was a spectacular give-and-take discussion and I love being able to connect with so many savvy industry professionals and facilitate their exchange to support and advance their chapters.
To say “CREW Network works” is an understatement. This Leadership Summit, along with all CREW Network events, proves that membership means business. Get yours here at CREW Network.
