CREW Network has added a chapter in Nova Scotia, expanding the business organization’s presence to 78 markets and 12,000 members globally. Delegates representing CREW Network chapters unanimously voted to add CREW Nova Scotia, the organization’s seventh Canadian chapter, on Jan. 24 at the 2020 CREW Network Winter Leadership Summit in Santa Clara, California. The new chapter will promote commercial real estate business opportunities for its members and provide industry networking, education and leadership opportunities in the Halifax market and across Nova Scotia.
The chapter was formed under the leadership of Megan Atwell and Leanne MacLean. MacLean, who relocated from Edmonton, was familiar with CREW and sought out women in Halifax who were interested in starting a chapter. The group’s first informal gathering in September 2019 had over 50 women in attendance. CREW Nova Scotia membership now stands at 31.
“After much hard work and dedication from our board, we are thrilled to launch CREW Nova Scotia,” said MacLean, CREW Nova Scotia President. “We are now in strategy and planning mode to kick off our first year with a great support network and exciting events. We can’t wait to share all that CREW Network has to offer with Nova Scotia and the rest of the Maritimes.”
“Since aligning with CREW Network, the benefits of being a part of this organization have been clear and abundant with learning tools, industry resources, networking and business development opportunities,” said Atwell, CREW Nova Scotia President-Elect. “The exponential growth of commercial real estate in Halifax will only be enhanced by collaborating our local members with CREW Network members globally across all sectors of the industry. I am very proud to represent an organization dedicated to the advancement of professional women and grateful to be a part of a community that is working towards parity in opportunity, influence and power for women in commercial real estate.”
