Globally Bonded

Wendy Mann, CAE, CREW Network CEO

When I took my first professional job at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, I was nervous as a kid on their first day of school. Who would be my friend?  How will I know what to do? What will be difficult to learn? All of these types of thoughts were running rampant through my 22-year-old head.

Clearly, my priorities may have been a little skewed. I was worried about making friends and getting to know people rather than the work itself. What can I say? I was young and socializing was very important to me as a new person in the city and new to my job.

Those feelings of wanting to belong never really go away. Finding your people brings a euphoric feeling that all is right in your world. Think about the last time you walked into a new workplace or even an event or conference. Seeking connections is a normal inclination.

Bringing CREW Network to MIPIM this year was much like the experience many of us have had trying to find our way in a sea of blue suits. Over 160 women registered for our breakfast networking event. That tells a story. Women are seeking connections in the European markets just as we have been for 34 years in the North American markets.

Meeting women from 15 countries represented at our events during this global conference made me realize that while we may come from different cultures and diverse lifestyles, we are globally bonded by our experience as women in commercial real estate. Those attending our events at MIPIM raved about it. We are building connectivity and creating a bond that will strengthen women and their place in the commercial property industry. CREW’s brand is growing rapidly because we are the place where women find their “people.”

CREW Network has already established global affiliates in France, the U.K., and most recently, Ireland. Each year, we gain significant interest and engagement at our CREW Network events in Europe. In the near future, no woman in commercial real estate globally will need to look further than CREW to be connected locally, regionally, and globally. Bringing the bond of CREW to you is our mission, accelerating your success is our purpose.

Won’t you join us?

Cheers,
Wendy
