CREW View: CRE Women Speak

The survey was distributed globally between Jan. 23 and Feb. 6, 2023, with 1,119 women participating and covered a range of industry topics, asset classes and disciplines.

Executive Summary

Despite forecasts by leading economists for a recession in 2023, just 28% of women are pessimistic about the state of the economy. About a quarter expressed optimism about the global economy as most are neutral in their opinion. When asked how the number of deal transactions and the total value of deals in 2022 compared to 2021 levels, more than 40% of respondents realized gains year-over-year. Looking at fourth quarter of 2022, results were mixed in terms of how overall deal performance compared relative to expectations. Though close to half of women saw growth overall in 2022 versus 2021, just 21% mentioned that total deal transactions and the value of deals met expectations during the period.
