Elise Giles and Christi Tennison didn’t know each other until a mutual contact introduced them. This chance collaboration resulted in these CREW Austin members closing a $3.5+ million deal in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The Packery Pointe development project, which produced seven finished lots to be sold to commercial developers, was financed with a loan originating from Giles of SouthStar Bank. While attending SouthStar Bank’s grand opening, Jake Kelley, a loan broker with Redbud Capital, introduced Giles and Tennison. Kelley recommended that his client, Tom Turner of Turner Holdings, LLC, use Tennison for his Packery Pointe development’s title and escrow.
The two women worked together to facilitate the deal, allowing Tennison and her team to successfully close the transaction despite unexpected difficulties in the closing process.
Discovering CREW members working minutes away from one another without prior interaction has prompted Giles to remind her fellow members to check the member directory in CREWbiz regularly.
“CREW is a dynamic group with new members joining every month,” said Giles. “There may be some fantastic members that have joined that you may not have met yet.”
As a result of the Packery Pointe deal’s success, Giles and Tennison plan to do more transactions together in the future.
CREW Network members involved in the deal:
Senior Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Lending
VP/Commercial Escrow Officer
Austin Title Company
