Brand Presence, Bold Moves

My recent participation in the Coldwell Banker Commercial (CBC) Global Conference was a real opportunity to see fundamentals of partnership and collaboration at work. Plus, a surprise opportunity to celebrate one of our own!

The meeting in Orlando was all about brand presence for CBC. It was exciting to see the ways they are understanding who they are and how they will position CBC for success. Their brand integrity was foremost reinforced as CEO Charlie Young presented a thoughtful perspective and confirmed the great opportunities ahead for their family of companies. There was great enthusiasm from the 300 participants.

Amidst all the fanfare, the presentation of the Halter/Case Leadership Award to CREW Houston member Sheri Arnold was a highlight. Sheri is president of Coldwell Banker Commercial Arnold & Associates in Beaumont, Texas. The award is named in honor of the late Caine Halter and the late Ray Case and recognizes an individual who embodies a positive attitude, professional aptitude and exemplary leadership. It is exciting to see CREW leaders honored within their companies.

As I reflect on this event and others like it, it reminds me that all companies transform and re-energize as time, circumstances and opportunities change. We are in a constant pace that demands we advance and pause at the same time. We must always have forward momentum to serve our partners and clients. Yet we have to pause and check our brand promise… are we delivering on it? We must reflect on our growth opportunities… do we need to expand or contract? We must constantly be vigilant about our competition.

Many, many factors come into play. And while working with our heads down, we need to pause and look around to ensure we are on the right path moving forward.

My comments at the opening session about the importance of gender diversity as a business imperative struck a chord with attendees. It was a moment to reflect on and consider if they are on the right path. As partners and clients evolve to more diverse entities, so must the real estate companies that serve them. Diversity is no longer a nice to have, but a must have. My presentation partner CREW Network President-Elect Holly Neber noted that our own experiences help inform and transform our businesses. As diversity and inclusion continue to be an opportunity, what will your bold move be?
