Red Rover, Red Rover

I was not very athletic in high school, yet I played every sport. I was mediocre at best at running hurdles in track. I gave it my best shot at basketball, yet never scored a point! My best friend played tennis, so I did as well—doubles only. My best sport was volleyball. Even though I am short, I had an ace serve. So, there’s something.

When I think back on sports, or even childhood games such as red rover, dodgeball or kickball, I remember not wanting to be picked last for a team. When that happened, it felt bad—like I was unwanted, not good enough or wouldn’t contribute to the game or sport. I believe most of us can likely recall an experience such as this in our formative years.

As adults, we forge ahead in building our “teams.” We build our team of friends, colleagues and business partners who we “select” because they fit with us, they value us and they add that something extra to our lives. We want to work and socialize with those who make us feel like we belong.

And now I call you, women in commercial real estate—like red rover—to come over. Come over to where you are valued, empowered and connected to the most powerful, diverse and expansive network of commercial real estate professionals in the world. You’ll find a lot of that something extra at CREW Network—business deals, relationships, professional development, leadership training and the best team you’ll ever be part of.

If you have not considered joining CREW Network in the past, now is the time to become part of our team. Each CREW Network member who reads this should extend their hand to someone they know and invite them to CREW.

All are welcomed here—you belong with us.
