Chris Mensinger visited AOI’s showroom for CREW Cocktails—a member-to-member networking event hosted at a CREW Omaha Metro member’s place of business. A multi-faceted construction company, DIRTT and Herman Miller dealer, AOI, had DIRTT prefabricated construction solutions and furniture on display.
Later, when Mensinger brokered a lease deal between Green Slate Development and Werner Enterprises, a 150-year old transportation and logistics company, she knew she needed to bring her clients to AOI. They were looking for space to build out their new office and needed to see what AOI could do with walls and furniture.
Slated to house Werner’s downtown brokerage group, the new industrial warehouse space overlooking a park was a complete departure from their typical brand. While happy with the location, the client was having a hard time visualizing the end product and layout, and needed a turnkey solution with construction buildout and furniture installation.
The AOI team, including CREW Omaha Metro members Amy Augustyn, Audry Dobbe and Marlene Knight, helped sell Mensinger’s vision to Werner. The partnership with Colliers International, Green Slate Development and AOI delivered Werner Logistics a progressive office space that will attract and retain top talent in a vibrant midtown location. In addition to AOI profiting from the transaction, the impact of this business introduction has strong potential for future transactions on a national level.
“Taking the time to think about fellow CREW members is an important part of the process when assisting my clients,” Mensinger said. “CREW members are best-in-class at what they do and I trust they will treat my clients the way I treat them.”
This exciting project originated over cocktails and was successful through trusted relationships developed within the local CREW Omaha Metro chapter.
