2018 CREW Network President Tara Piurko welcomed Spring Leadership Summit participants.

What a welcome in Cleveland! My few days spent at the 2018 CREW Network Spring Leadership Summit were a wonderful, worthwhile, whirlwind of inspiring speakers, intimate group discussions, sneak peaks of CREW Network chapter success stories, and friendly, energetic networking galore. Some of my favorite summit highlights include:

Volunteer leadership strategist Cynthia D’Amour at the 2018 CREW Network Spring Leadership Summit

The new and exciting ideas that we all got to take back to our respective chapters.

During the full-day training with volunteer leadership strategist Cynthia D’Amour, we learned that fresh is a MUST and that it’s truly all about the experience—whether designing chapter meetings that are intuitive and meaningful or planning an off-the-hook industry event that everyone will attend. Dividing into groups, we all had the opportunity to design an event, followed by presentations of these fantastic, fresh and fun ideas! (Power Deals in Heels, Red, White & CREW—just to name a few.)

Adrienne Bain at the mic during CREWspeak during the 2018 CREW Network Spring Leadership Summit

The excitement of hearing chapters discuss what is most beneficial and WORKS for them during CREW Speak.

To name a few, representatives from CREW chapters of Indy, Seattle, Atlanta, NC-Raleigh, San Antonio, Columbus, Houston, New Jersey, San Diego, Charlotte, Chicago, East Bay, Denver, St. Louis, Orlando, Jacksonville and NYC all had the most insightful benefits to share—what is working in their markets. So many tips were shared that it was tough to write them down fast enough.

CREW Network CEO Wendy Mann, CAE,  Head of Real Estate Capital at KeyBank Angela Mago, and 2018 CREW Network President Tara Piurko.

Hearing about winning culture from speaker Angela Mago, Head of Real Estate Capital at KeyBank, was another big highlight for me.

What a truly feel-good moment to hear about her career journey and how she overcame obstacles along the way. Looking around the room and seeing such relatable expressions on fellow CREW-ee’s faces after recalling “a ha!” moments in their own careers was a perfect way to put a bow on the summit.

Whether it was the presentation of new CREW Network information throughout the summit (hello new CREW Network website!), learning how to target the correct participant and sponsor audience for UCREW, hearing about the latest industry research, bragging about the fabulous chapter goals surpassed for CREW Network Foundation, or simply meeting a new professional bestie at one of the dine-arounds, I know that the one take-away we all can agree on from the 2018 Spring Leadership Summit is INSPIRATION. Truly.

A big shout out to CREW Cleveland—your hospitality and creativity was truly appreciated. Thank you for welcoming us and showing us your city! And thank you to CREW Network—your impact cannot be measured.

See you in San Diego this October for the 2018 CREW Network Convention and Marketplace
