CREW Utah Members Leverage Their Network in Complex High-Rise Deal Transaction

Written by: Milena Nazaruk, Toronto CREW

Several years ago, CREW Utah’s Anna Mkrtchyan made the introduction of the owner of a high-rise, mixed-use building located in the heart of Salt Lake City. Mkrtchyan, Principal Relationship Manager and Vice President, Wells Fargo, later had the opportunity to bid on the building refinancing and won the deal. She immediately contacted fellow CREW Utah member Ronda Landa, Director of Sales, First American Title, to discuss the possibility of working together.

Landa and Mkrtchyan met through CREW Utah and are highly involved in the chapter, serving on the chapter’s board of directors together in years past. The two have maintained their relationship both personally and in business.

After discussions, Landa and First American Title colleague Anna Irons, Senior Title Officer, were engaged to oversee title work. However, the complexity of the transaction was going to require a creative approach across multiple disciplines. Mkrtchyan began assembling the rest of the transaction team—made up entirely of CREW Utah members.

Adrienne Bell, real estate attorney, Holland & Hart LLP, and Lorrie Hendricks, Senior Property Manager, Gaddis Investments, joined the transaction team, with Hendricks providing market data based on property management experience with high-rise buildings in Salt Lake City. The team handled all the various aspects of the transaction, crediting their success to their CREW Utah connection.
