Speed Networking

Despite the efforts to empower women in the workplace, many still struggle with deeply ingrained social conditioning from adolescence. Without realizing it, we may find it hard to advocate for ourselves, communicate assertively, or face difficult conversations for fear of seeming uncooperative or mean. Until we confront this conditioning, we risk undermining our own success and ability to uplift one another. By better understanding this conditioning as well as emotional regulation, emotional hijacking, and the role of boundaries—we can break these patterns and unlock our full potential as leaders. Rosalind will discuss how to employ leadership strategies to better increase group cohesion & effectiveness, manage conflict, and turn discomfort into meaningful, productive conversations.

Beyond Mean Girls: Building Leadership Through Challenge, Conflict and Courageous Discomfort

In this session, facilitator Jeannine K. Brown will share information about the significance of Juneteenth, a federal holiday commemorating the ending of slavery in the U.S. and reflect on how the history behind the date has impacted her personal leadership journey. As a CEO, executive leadership coach, and with extensive expertise in helping organizations create psychologically safe spaces for teams, Jeannine will also share strategies for today’s leaders to foster continued cultural competence through education and awareness, create an inclusive culture for their teams, and serve as an advocate and champion for Black women and those from other underrepresented groups—not just on Juneteenth, but every day.

CREW members will contribute to the discussion about their own leadership experiences as CRE professionals and CREW leaders and invite attendees to share in this exchange to:

<li>Elevate our collective understanding of challenges faced and those still ahead for Black women and those from other underrepresented groups in CRE</li>
<li>Identify opportunities for allyship and/or meaningful support and advancement</li>

This session is for Delegates and Chapter Presidents to meet with their CREW Network board liaison to discuss CREW Network initiatives. You will have the opportunity to meet and network with other chapter leaders, and learn what is happening at CREW Network and how it benefits your chapter.

Delegates 
Members serving as, or sitting in for, the official chapter delegate role, will meet with your board liaison. This includes chapter presidents who are also serving as one of the chapter’s official delegates. 

Chapter presidents (non-delegates) 
Chapter presidents who are not representing their chapter as a delegate will meet with CREW Network global president Cindy MacMillan.

Chapter Delegates are assigned to dine arounds with the CREW Network board liaison assigned to your chapter.

Non-delegate attendees should sign up for a dine around hosted by CREW Portland to network and get to know fellow summit attendees.

Start off your day with an hour of fitness (and a little networking) with your CREW. Set off on a walk or run while connecting with other CREW members and getting your morning workout in.

Walk/run participants will meet in the hotel lobby and be guided by CREW Portland members.

Grab a plate and your favorite morning beverage to fuel your day, then head into our meeting room to network with fellow attendees.

Networking Breakfast

At the Council Meeting, you'll hear updates on CREW Network initiatives and events, learn what's on the horizon, share information on chapter activities, and vote on important CREW Network business. We also will celebrate CREW chapters that have met the Foundation trifecta and receive other important updates.

The Council Meeting is open to all attendees. Chapter delegates are required to attend and represent their chapters.
