CREW Network Foundation Awards 40 Scholarships to Commercial Real Estate Students

CREW Network Foundation Grants $275,000 in Scholarships to University Students 

Lawrence, Kansas, USA – Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network Foundation has selected 40 university students to receive a total of $275,000 USD (or the Canadian dollar equivalent) in scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year, in addition to valuable network and career building opportunities. CREW Network Foundation’s scholarship program has granted $1.8 million USD to 336 female students at 144 universities across 40 states/provinces in the U.S. and Canada since 2008.

The scholarship program supports female students as they pursue university-level education that will lead to careers in commercial real estate. The selected undergraduate students (25) will receive $5,000 USD (or the Canadian dollar equivalent) for tuition and books, and graduate students (15) will receive $10,000.  

The students will also receive a six-month mentorship with a CREW Visionary, a 24-month CREW Network student membership, a complimentary registration to the 2025 CREW Network Convention, October 8-10 in Austin, Texas, a $1,000 travel stipend for the convention, and a paid summer internship opportunity.

Scholarship funds are supported by the Linda Hollemon Scholarship Endowment and Hall of Fame giving program, as well as personal and corporate contributions. 

The 2025 scholarship recipients, listed with hometowns, universities, and majors/areas of study, are: 

Rosalyn Therese Becicka

Hometown: Des Moines, Iowa 
Current institution: Iowa State University 
Focus of Study: Architecture 

Becicka is a fifth-year architecture student with a strong interest in architectural graphics and client experiences. Her favorite project to date is a monastery design based on nature and the control of light in living spaces. Becicka has competed in several student competitions, recently placing first in the PCI Project Precast, where she was paired with three  students from across the United States to design a precast parking structure in a 48-hour time frame. This summer she is interning for BBS architecture in Des Moines, Iowa.  

Keena Boondicharern

Hometown: Manhattan Beach, California 
Current institution: University of California, Berkeley  
Focus of Study: Data Science with an Emphasis on Economics 

Boondicharern is a senior majoring in data science with an emphasis on economics. She serves as Co-President of the Undergraduate Real Estate Club and sits on the Student Advisory Board for the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society. Boondicharern served as a Real Estate Fundraising and Strategic Advisory intern with JLL Securities during her sophomore summer and recently as an Asset Management intern with Tishman Speyer. She aspires to work in real estate development upon graduation.  

Erin Chen

Hometown: Corona, California 
Current Institution: California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo 
Focus of Study: Architecture

Chen is an incoming senior majoring in architecture and minoring in construction management. She is on the fundraising committee for AAa/e. Chen has interned for two summers in Irvine at MVE+ Partners and for five months in Los Angeles for Cannon Design. She is eager to begin her career in architecture upon graduation.

Kristen Corlay

Hometown: Monterrey, Mexico 
Current institution: Stanford University 
Focus of study: Sustainable Design / Civil Engineering 
 
Corlay holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Sustainable Design and Construction at Stanford. As project manager, she led Stanford’s team to national finalist status in the Bank of America Affordable Housing Challenge, developing community-driven solutions for East San José. She serves as president of Leaders of the Built Environment, a group dedicated to foster connections between students and professionals across architecture, engineering, and construction. Corlay has interned at Thornton Tomasetti as a Resilience and Sustainability Engineer. She is passionate about affordable housing, social justice, and human-centered design. 

Caroline Costigan

Hometown: New York, New York 
Current institution: University of Notre Dame 
Focus of Study: Architecture 

 Costigan is a junior majoring in architecture with a concentration in architectural practice and enterprise, with minors in real estate, Italian, and the Glynn Family Honors Program. She has worked for the past two years at the University of Notre Dame's Architecture Library as a Research Assistant and serves as the Atelier Section Editor and Designer for Notre Dame's School of Architecture STOA Magazine. Costigan volunteers with children and adults at GiGi's Playhouse, an organization for children and adults with Down Syndrome. She aspires to manage her own international architecture firm, utilizing her education to positively impact the communities she has had the privilege of serving.  

Shannon Coughlan

Hometown: Long Island, New York 
Current institution: New York University 
Focus of Study: Real Estate Development 

Coughlan is currently a candidate for her master's in real estate development. Prior to NYU, she worked for two years in real estate capital markets at JLL and is now interning in development at Hines for the summer of 2025. Coughlan sits on the Associate Board of Arbor Rising, a non-profit that provides consulting and financial services to high-potential non-profits focused on helping low-income individuals secure a path out of poverty. She is also a member of Violet Vineyard, a student-run group that collaborates with faculty and alumni to enhance NYU’s alumni network. 

Audrey Cui

Hometown: Shenyang, China 
Current institution: University of Houston 
Focus of Study: Finance 

 Cui is a senior majoring in finance with a certificate in commercial real estate and minoring in accounting. She serves as the President for Undergraduate Real Estate Scholars and Director of Market Research for Private Equity Real Estate Scholars at UH. Cui has interned with Halliburton in the corporate real estate sector and is currently interning for KPMG in property tax. Upon graduation, she aspires to be in commercial real estate brokerage in the retail sector. 

Meaghan Dickson

Hometown: Toronto, Ontario 
Current institution: Harvard University 
Focus of Study: Architecture 

Dickson is a first-year graduate student in the Master of Architecture I program at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. She graduated with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies from Carleton University with high distinction. Dickson has over three years of work experience in San Diego, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa, working as an architectural designer and in research positions. Upon graduation, she intends to pursue licensure as an architect.

Ella Flanagan

Hometown: Elwood, Indiana 
Current Institution: Ball State University 
Focus of Study: Construction Management 

Flanagan is a senior majoring in construction management with minors in business administration and real estate development. She is currently interning with Compass Commercial Construction and has previously gained experience in both preconstruction and estimating with TMG Construction Management and RL Turner. On campus, Flanagan is actively involved in the Construction Management Student Organization, serves as CM Ladies Night Coordinator, and competes on several national competition teams including NAIOP, ASC Design-Build, and ABC.

Nora Frederick 

Hometown: Shrewsbury, Massachusetts 
Current institution: Northeastern University 
Focus of Study: Structural Engineering  

Frederick graduated from Bucknell University magna cum laude with honors, where she majored in civil engineering, conducted research on the torsion of aluminum, and played NCAA Division I field hockey. She completed two internships in construction management at Consigli Construction and worked as a Structural Engineering Intern at Thornton Tomassetti.  

Krista Garnand

Hometown: Santa Rosa, New Mexico  
Current institution: The University of New Mexico  
Focus of Study: Architecture  

Garnand is a senior majoring in architecture. She served as Treasurer for her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, where she managed a financial portfolio of over $500,000 and led initiatives to promote financial transparency and education. She currently interns at Dekker, a leading architecture firm in Albuquerque, where she works in the commercial studio. Passionate about revitalizing underserved communities through thoughtful design, Garnand aspires to pursue a career that merges commercial real estate and architecture to drive sustainable economic development in small towns. 

Sahar Hammoud

Hometown: Calgary, Alberta 
Current institution: University of Calgary 
Focus of Study: MBA - Global Energy Management and Sustainable Development 

 Hammoud is completing her Master of Business Administration at the Haskayne School of Business. She currently serves as Vice President of Mentorship with the Real Estate Student Association. Hammoud began her career with the City of Calgary in 2014 with the Assessment and Tax department, specializing in mass appraisal valuations for multi-residential and non-residential properties. She has served as a Business Strategist in the Director’s Office of the Partnerships department and will take on a new role as Executive Advisor with the Downtown Strategy team, contributing to key projects that support the revitalization of Calgary’s downtown core. 

Avery Herman

Hometown: Norfolk, Nebraska 
Current Institution: University of Nebraska Omaha 
Focus of Study: Business Administration 

Herman is a junior majoring in business administration with concentrations in real estate and land use economics and accounting. She is part of the UNO College of Business Administration Scholar’s Academy, serves as Treasurer of her school’s Rho Epsilon chapter, plays trumpet in band ensembles at UNO, and is an inducted member of the international business honor society, Beta Gamma Sigma. Herman has been interning with Mesner Development Co. in Central City, Nebraska and hopes to continue working in real estate development within the affordable housing sector. 

Lexie Howell

Hometown: Newport Beach, California 
Current institution: Southern Methodist University 
Focus of Study: Real Estate Finance & Data Science 

Howell is an honors student majoring in both real estate finance and data science. On campus, she serves as Co-President of the Undergraduate Real Estate Club and Chief Operating Officer of RISE, a real estate private equity analyst prep program. Howell previously served as VP of Professional Development for the business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi. She has had various internship experiences, including JLL Capital Markets, NETSTREIT, and Ledcor Properties. Howell plans to pursue a career in commercial real estate after graduation. 

Roxanne Ibe

Hometown: Peoria, Illinois 
Current Institution: Iowa State University 
Focus of Study: Real Estate Development  

Ibe is a real estate developer, architectural designer, and construction consultant. In 2023, she founded Talisman Development Group, a firm specializing in the adaptive reuse of underutilized commercial and historic properties in Central Illinois. She has contributed to over a dozen major projects, including co-developing the $30M Adams & Oak historic redevelopment in Peoria’s Warehouse District. Ibe is completing dual master's degrees in real estate development and business administration and remains actively involved in community service, mentoring, and local volunteer initiatives. 

Heather Jackson

Hometown: Willis, Texas 
Current institution: Utah State University  
Focus of Study: Finance & Accounting  

Jackson is a senior majoring in finance and accounting with a minor in real estate. She is a member of the women in finance club, real estate club, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Huntsman Scholar Program for the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. Jackson has interned for ECI Software solutions and Conservice LLC as a corporate accounting intern. She has also interned with Koch Industries as an accounting analyst. She aspires to work in commercial real estate acquisitions and development upon graduation. 

Claudia Kaczmarczyk

Hometown: Algonquin, Illinois 
Current institution: Florida Southern College 
Focus of Study: Finance 

Kaczmarczyk is an incoming senior finance major, a status she achieved three semesters early. She serves as President and Founder of FSC’s Real Estate Society, Vice President of her Beta Alpha Psi chapter, and is a student liaison for CREW Tampa Bay. Currently, Kaczmarczyk is interning with Hines as a Property Management Intern. She also holds a Florida Real Estate Sales Associate license and has prior experience as a Real Estate Assistant.  Kaczmarczyk is passionate about commercial real estate and aspires to build a career in asset management or development upon graduation.  

Payton Key

Hometown: Jupiter, Florida 
Current institution: University of Florida 
Focus of Study: Finance and Real Estate 

Key is a junior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in finance alongside a combined Master of Science in Real Estate. She serves as the Director of Professional Development for the Real Estate Society at the University of Florida and works part time at a real estate development and construction firm while in school. Key is interning at Ram Realty Advisors, a real estate development firm in Palm Beach Gardens. Previously, she has also had internships in civil engineering and urban planning. After graduation, Key hopes to pursue a career in real estate development to help build a better future for communities. 

Christine Y. Kim

Hometown: Mt. Laurel, New Jersey 
Current institution: Columbia University  
Focus of Study: Master of Business Administration  

Kim is entering her second year in the MBA program at Columbia Business School, where she serves as the Student Body President and is in various leadership roles on the boards of the Real Estate Association, Retail and Luxury Group, Tennis Club, and Wine Society. She was recently chosen as a Career Management Center Fellow as well. Kim is currently interning at Welltower (NYSE: WELL) on the Investments Team and plans to continue pursuing opportunities in real estate investments upon graduation.  

Julia Kowalski

Hometown: Ladera Ranch, California 
Current institution: Loyola Marymount University 
Focus of Study: Finance 

Kowalski is a senior majoring in finance with a focus in commercial real estate. She works as the current Communications Intern for CREW Los Angeles, creating a variety of marketing and communication materials for the local chapter. Kowalski interned as an Investor Relations and Research Summer Analyst at Bellwether (2024) and is currently working as a Summer Analyst at Eastdil Secured. She aspires to work in brokerage or asset management upon graduation and is drawn to commercial real estate because of its seamless blend of financial analysis and relationship building.  

Georgina Lalli, AIA

Hometown: New York, New York 
Current institution: Columbia University 
Focus of Study: Master's in business administration  

Lalli has experience delivering high-profile real estate projects valued up to $2 billion USD in construction across Latin America, Europe, East Asia, and the Northeast United States. As a Senior Associate Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox, she has led complex developments, including the adaptive reuse of the Tisch Cancer Hospital in New York City and the design and construction of the T. Rowe Price Headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland. Previously, she served as an Adjunct Professor at NYIT, teaching Visual Communication and Digital Technology, mentoring future architects, and championing diversity. Licensed as an architect in both New York and Italy, she is currently pursuing an MBA at Columbia Business School, through which seeks to bridge design and real estate development. 

Florence Le

Hometown: Westminster, California  
Current institution: California State University, Fullerton  
Focus of Study: Finance  

Le is a first-year MBA student specializing in finance. She is actively involved as a member of the Appraisal Institute, the Real Estate Association (CSUF REA), and Beta Gamma Sigma (CSUF Chapter). Le is currently pursuing her Real Estate Salesperson license and completing appraisal training education. She will receive her ARGUS Real Estate Commercial Analytics and Valuation certification in July 2025. With more than three years of experience as a loan processor at Golden Bank, N.A., Le aspires to thrive in commercial real estate appraisal. 

Kayla Lee

Hometown: Burnaby, British Columbia 
Current institution: University of British Columbia 
Focus of Study: Real Estate and Accounting  

Lee is entering her fourth year at the UBC Sauder School of Business, specializing in real estate and accounting with a minor in environmental science. She has contributed to organizations such as the UBC Centre for Student Development and Leadership, Ocean Wise, the UBC Sustainability Hub, and numerous campus clubs. Currently interning at Williams Management and preparing for the 2025 Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition, Lee is focused on building a career in real estate development that advances sustainability and creates a lasting positive impact. 

Ali Marcus

Hometown: Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts 
Current institution: University of Colorado Boulder 
Focus of Study: Real Estate and Finance 
 
Marcus is a rising senior pursuing a dual major in real estate and finance at the University of Colorado Boulder. She is a Chancellor’s Achievement Scholar and a Ferguson Fellow for the Center for Leadership Excellence. Marcus recently placed second in the BU Hospitality Real Estate Case Competition, where she presented a strategic mixed-use hotel development proposal. She previously interned at Newmark and is currently interning at JLL on the multifamily capital markets team. Her goal is to build a career in commercial real estate, with aspirations to move to the ownership side of the business.

Monique Mauler

Hometown: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 
Current institution: University of Cincinnati 
Focus of Study: Real Estate 

Mauler is a junior majoring in real estate and minoring in marketing. She serves on the executive board of the UC Real Estate Association, participates in the ICSC Mentorship Program, and is an SEO EDGE Participant. Mauler is currently interning in Pittsburgh at UPMC on the Corporate Real Estate team. She aspires to work in the hospitality and lodging development sector of real estate upon graduation.

Abby McPherson

Hometown: Denver, Colorado  
Current institution: University of Denver  
Focus of Study: Real Estate  

McPherson is a senior at the Daniels College of Business, majoring in real estate with a concentration in finance and a minor in business analytics. She serves as Treasurer of the DU Sales Team and Treasurer and Co-founder of the university’s FBLA chapter. Currently, she is interning at Colliers, where she supports the brokerage team. Previously, McPherson participated in CBRE’s Capital Markets Fellowship and multiple Project Destined programs, where she gained experience in investor pitch presentations, financial modeling, capital stack analysis, and property underwriting. She plans to pursue a career in commercial real estate brokerage and investment sales after graduation.

Jamellah Mekioui

Hometown: Edmonton, Alberta 
Current institution: University of Alberta 
Focus of Study: Finance 

Mekioui is in her fourth year majoring in finance. She has worked at Camgill Development Corporation, Northern Development & Investment Group, and is currently part of KV Capital’s Capital Markets team.  Mekioui served as an Events Associate for the University of Alberta Real Estate Club and volunteers as an alumni mentor and judge for the REET pitch competition. She stays active in the industry and is focused on building a career in commercial real estate. 

Tina Nguyen

Hometown: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 
Current institution: Temple University 
Focus of Study: Real Estate & Management Information System 

Nguyen is a senior majoring in real estate and management information systems. She currently serves as President of Temple’s Real Estate Organization, is a LEED Green Associate, and actively completing her USPAP coursework. She is a member of CoreNet Global, the Appraisal Institute, and CREW Network. Nguyen has interned at Vanguard and Coyle, Lynch, & Company, where she gained exposure to both institutional and valuation-focused real estate. She looks forward to pursuing a career in commercial real estate upon graduation. 

Oriane Pacic

Hometown: Nancy, France (currently resides in Quebec) 
Current institution: Harvard University 
Focus of Study: Real Estate 

Pacic is a graduate student pursuing a Master in Real Estate at Harvard University. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and is a CFA charterholder. Pacic began her career in Infrastructure Advisory at KPMG, where she contributed to several large-scale infrastructure projects across Canada. From 2022 to 2024, she worked in the Natural Resources group at PSP Investments, followed by a role as an Investments Associate at the Canada Infrastructure Bank. Pacic looks forward to joining a vertically integrated real estate developer upon graduation. 

Mia Pardo

Hometown: Austin, Texas 
Current institution: Texas Tech University 
Focus of Study: Architecture 

Pardo is a junior majoring in architecture, pursuing a certificate in ecological architecture and minoring in interior design. She serves as Secretary of the TTU chapter of  the American Institute of Architecture Students and as a student ambassador for CREW Austin. Since May 2024, Pardo has interned with Texas Tech’s Operations Engineering and Design department in Lubbock, Texas. Driven by a belief in architecture’s power to shape environments and foster community, she aims to design sustainable spaces that enrich the lives of those who inhabit them. 

Molly Pethick

Hometown: Ellicott City, Maryland 
Current institution: The Pennsylvania State University 
Focus of Study: Mechanical Engineering  

Pethick is a rising senior majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in biomedical engineering. She is currently researching how ultraviolet radiation affects bacteria DNA to help improve water disinfection methods for her honors thesis. Pethick has held summer internships at D. W. Kozera and Burdette, Koehler, Murphy & Associates, and is currently with Havtech. 

Filippa Rodriguez

Hometown: Bogotá, Colombia and Milan, Italy 
Current Institution: Purdue University 
Focus of Study: Business Analytics and Information Management 

Rodriquez is a senior majoring in business analytics and information management with minors in accounting and real estate finance. She serves as Co-President of the Purdue Real Estate Society and Leadership Development Chair for the Brock-Wilson Center for Women in Business. On campus, she holds three jobs: Teaching Assistant, Assistive Technology Assistant, and Case Competition Facilitator. Rodriquez has interned at Caterpillar Inc., Vista Equity Partners, and most recently, PGIM Real Estate as a Real Estate Equity Investment Analyst. Upon graduation, she aspires to build a career in real estate equity investment. 

Shelby Rowland

Hometown: El Sobrante, California 
Current Institution: Texas A&M University – College Station 
Focus of Study: MBA – Finance Concentration 

Rowland earned an undergraduate degree in real estate finance and development and is currently pursuing her MBA with a concentration in finance. She is a Development Associate at Embrey, a vertically integrated real estate investment company based in San Antonio, Texas. Rowland oversees multifamily development projects across Florida, managing every phase from acquisition and entitlements through construction and final disposition. She also chairs the Programs Committee for CREW San Antonio.

Paris Sato

Hometown: Honolulu, Hawai’i 
Current Institution: University of Southern California 
Focus of Study: Real Estate Development 

Sato is a licensed architect with experience in commercial design and sustainable development in Silicon Valley and Hawai’i. She is currently pursuing a Master of Real Estate Development with an expected graduation in 2026. Through the MRED program, Sato is committed to leading climate-adaptive development that strengthens coastal communities and redefines resilient urban growth. She earned her bachelor's degree in architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, where she was a student-athlete on the varsity sailing team.

Christina Steiner

Hometown: East Brunswick, New Jersey 
Current institution: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill 
Focus of Study: Business Administration  

 Steiner is a rising senior majoring in business administration and minoring in urban planning and studies. She is a member of the Undergraduate Real Estate Club, Sigma Eta Pi entrepreneurship fraternity, and plays on the UNC Club Tennis team. Steiner has most recently interned at PJT Partners Park Hill real estate as a summer analyst, and aspires to work in commercial real estate finance upon graduation.

Scarlett Tames

Hometown: Los Angeles, California 
Current institution: University of Pennsylvania  
Focus of Study: Finance 
 
Tames is an MBA student at the Wharton School majoring in finance with a focus on real estate investment and social impact. She currently serves as Vice President of Acquisitions and Portfolio Management at Clear Capital, a real estate private equity firm where she has led over $1 billion in transactions and manages a portfolio of workforce and affordable housing assets across the Western U.S.  Tames actively contributes to organizations like CREW, NMHC, and the Urban Land Institute. She is passionate about mentoring women in commercial real estate and aspires to build impactful investment platforms that advance housing equity. 

Lazanedra Taylor

Hometown: Tacoma, Washington 
Current institution: Georgetown University  
Focus of Study: Real Estate  

Taylor is completing her master’s in real estate with a focus on development and finance. She brings a background in property management and currently serves as a committee chair for CREW Seattle.  Through her graduate work, she has built experience in financial modeling, feasibility analysis, and market research, with a strong interest in value-add and affordable housing projects. After graduation, she intends to pursue a career in acquisitions or development, with long-term goals of working on medium and large development projects that balance performance with long-term impact.  

Peyton Youth

Hometown: Greensboro, North Carolina  
Current Institution: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill  
Focus of Study: Business Administration, Area of Emphasis in Real Estate  

Youth is a senior majoring in business administration with an area of emphasis in real estate. She is actively involved in the Leonard W. Wood Center for Real Estate Studies and has represented UNC in multiple case competitions, including the ICSC Retail Real Estate and CREFC Real Estate Debt Case Competitions, where her team earned first place. She is also a member of UNC’s Undergraduate Real Estate Club, a participant in the Real Estate Diversity Initiative (REDI) Program, and a coach with Girls on the Run. Youth is currently interning with Barings in Charlotte, North Carolina, and plans to pursue a career in real estate investment upon graduation in May 2026. 

Emerson Wernimont (Cochran)

Hometown: Carthage, Missouri 
Current institution: University of Arkansas, Fayetteville 
Focus of Study: Master of Business Administration  

Wernimont is pursuing an MBA and certificate in Business Analytics at Walton College of Business. She serves as the Finance-Sponsorship Team Liaison for CREW Northwest Arkansas and is a Graduate Assistant at her university’s Student Success Center. Before returning for her masters, Wernimont worked for two years as a project designer in a commercial architecture firm specializing in K-12 schools and civic design, documentation, and construction administration. She is currently interning for Walmart Real Estate on the Portfolio Management team and aspires to continue working in development following her graduation in May 2026. 

Eleni Zarokiam

Hometown: Los Angeles, California 
Current institution: University of Southern California 
Focus of Study: Business Administration, Real Estate Finance Emphasis 

Zarokiam is a rising senior majoring in business administration with an emphasis in real estate finance. She served as the Director of Membership for the Marshall Real Estate Finance Association and will continue her involvement this year as a Senior Advisor. Zarokiam is a member of the Trojan Real Estate Association and Armenian Students Association. She is currently interning at Wells Fargo in the Real Estate Banking group. Last summer, she interned at Beta Agency, a real estate brokerage, and completed a capital markets internship with Lever Capital Partners in her sophomore year.
