Crystal Lye

I'm a portfolio management associate helping to manage a $10B diversified, real estate private equity core fund at CBRE Investment Management. The role is broad and covers anything from portfolio analysis, valuations, collaboration with asset management/acquisitions/financial operations teams on property- and fund-level decisions, as well as any other efforts required to keep the fund operating and performing optimally. I began this role in 2021, and before that I was a brokerage associate for two years in the Advisory & Transactions division specializing in retail leasing in Manhattan. Before that was my CREW-enabled internship at CBRE in the same division - clear evidence of how CREW truly changed my life!

CREW set my initial trajectory and opened the door for me to pursue my dream real estate career. As the only recipient from my year who was from Canada, and without any connection to the U.S. real estate market where I aspired to be, the CREW scholarship was what allowed me the opportunity to start planting those roots and building connections through an internship at CBRE in New York City. It is because CREW believed in me and gave me the chance to demonstrate my passion and ambition in a highly competitive city that I have flourished in my development here at CBRE. I have been and continue to look forward to mentoring, especially young rising women who aspire a similar path.
