Johana Gonzalez
Leasing Associate
I'm a Leasing Associate at Prologis in Las Vegas, where I support the leasing and marketing of the company’s approximately 16 million-square-foot Las Vegas portfolio. Before joining Prologis, she spent three years with First American Title Insurance Company’s National Commercial Services division as a Commercial Escrow Assistant, helping close more than 100 commercial real estate transactions across the industrial, retail and office sectors.
The CREW Network Foundation scholarship changed my career trajectory in a way I never expected. In addition to the financial support, the scholarship provided me with a complimentary CREW membership. At the time, as a recent graduate without the financial means to join other industry organizations such as NAIOP, SIOR or CCIM, I dedicated my time and energy to CREW Las Vegas.
I joined a committee where I worked alongside Renee Carroll to help develop EMPOWR, a mentorship program that introduces UNLV students to commercial real estate through job-shadowing sessions, mentorship, industry events and hands-on exposure to different career paths. Through that committee involvement, Renee got to know me and eventually recruited me to join her team at Prologis, one of the largest industrial real estate companies in the world.
I loved working in title and escrow, but the opportunity to move into leasing completely changed my life and opened a career path I may not have otherwise considered. The scholarship gave me more than financial support. It gave me access, a professional community and the opportunity to build relationships that directly shaped where I am today. Now, through EMPOWR, I can help provide other students with the same exposure and sense of possibility that CREW gave me.
