Mandi Backhaus Barr

I have been a Broker at The Lerner Company since 2019. My focus is on Retail Tenant Representation, Landlord Representation, Development, and Market Research. My typical territory includes Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota. I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with concentrations in real estate, marketing and management.

I had just begun my journey in the commercial real estate industry when I received the scholarship in my final year of college. Coming from a small town, I didn't know anything about CRE, nor many people in Omaha, where I was living/going to school. Receiving the scholarship lifted a part of a financial burden off of me as I finished school, which I am extremely grateful for. Becoming a part of CREW and joining the Omaha chapter truly opened the door to my career. The COVID-19 pandemic hit in my final semester of college, but I was fortunate to have already been licensed and planned to go full-time as a broker when I graduated. CREW Omaha still hosted virtual events and networking Zooms, which allowed me to meet new people and learn even more about the industry. I then attended the national Convention in Chicago, which allowed me to expand my connections even more. I am constantly inspired by the women in CREW, who showcase the best way to be a professional, a friend, a mother, a community member, and so much more. I am forever grateful for this organization!
