Mary Dooley

Director, Development, JDL Development

I joined JDL to advance the firm’s development and investment initiatives. I bring a decade of experience in commercial real estate, having worked as a capital markets advisor securing financing and joint venture equity at both JLL and HFF. Over the course of my career, I closed more than $7 billion in capital through first mortgages, bridge loans, mezzanine loans, preferred equity, and joint venture equity for assets throughout the U.S. I have experience across a broad range of property types, with a specialty in ground-up and pre-stabilized mixed-use assets. My notable transactions include One Chicago, Gallagher Way, and other landmark mixed-use developments across the country. She also serves on the Board of REFF (Real Estate Finance Forum), where I focus on elevating women within commercial real estate transaction roles, and I'm an active alumna of the University of Miami, where I earned a B.S. in Finance.

The CREW scholarship helped me pay for my last semester of college before graduating early (a money-saving measure), thereby limiting my debt when entering my professional career. The abatement of that financial stress helped me choose a CRE career that better served my long-term goals vs. having to focus solely on maximizing salary. I spent the first decade of my career at HFF and JLL, which was both a wonderful place to work and an excellent training ground that ultimately helped me land my current job. The scholarship also helped open my network to local mentors like Joanne Campanile, who I would not have had the same relationship without the opportunity to participate in local crew network committees.
