Membership dues: how much, how often?
CREW Network dues are low by comparison with other industry organizations, and current members can attest that the value of CREW Network membership is unparalleled. CREW dues are a combination of CREW Network and chapter dues. CREW Network dues are $210 USD annually. Chapter dues vary; consult the chapter website to view dues specific to your area, as well as details on membership qualifications and requirements.
All CREW memberships are on a calendar year term and expire on Dec. 31. CREW Network dues (and most chapter dues) are discounted for new members joining after June 15. Check the website for its specific chapter policies and rates.
How do I join?
First, locate a CREW Near You. Each affiliate organization or chapter has its own unique structure allowing it to meet the needs of that particular market, so membership requirements vary. If there is a chapter in your area, check out its website for information on upcoming events, membership qualifications, and the membership application to join. If there isn’t a chapter in your area, you can apply as an at-large member. At-large members are entitled to all CREW Network membership benefits; they just don’t have a local CREW chapter. Once your membership application has been approved and your dues processed at CREW Network headquarters, you will start receiving membership benefits.
Can I join CREW Network, but not a chapter, even if there is a chapter near me?
You will benefit from the local interaction, networking and leadership opportunities offered by the chapter, so if there is a chapter near you, you need to apply for membership with the chapter. If you have special circumstances that prevent you from participating at the local level (primarily working overseas, for example), please contact us.
Who can be a member?
CREW Network membership is generally open to individual professionals of any gender currently employed in a qualified field of commercial real estate. Many chapters also offer “Affiliate” membership for individuals who do not work in a qualified field of commercial real estate. Consult the chapter website or contact us for additional details and specifications.
Can I join more than one chapter?
Yes. Complete and submit the membership application for each chapter with which you’d like to be a member. Once your application(s) for additional membership(s) is approved, CREW Network will be in touch regarding dual membership dues. CREW Network dues are replaced with a $25 (USD) administrative fee (per additional chapter) after your initial CREW Network membership dues have been received. This means, depending on the time of year you are joining, you will pay $95-$185 (USD) less for the subsequent chapters’ membership dues.
What are my responsibilities as a member? How do I get the most out of my CREW Network membership?
As with almost everything, you get out what you put in. The best and easiest way to get the most of your membership is to get involved. Expand your member profile by adding your biography and entering other information such as honors and awards, education, and more. Participate in the discussions in the Member Community, or post a question of your own. Join a chapter committee, attend events, and put the “Network that works” to work for you.
I have moved to a different company – what happens to my membership?
CREW memberships are based on each individual’s expertise and experience within the CRE industry. CREW memberships belong to the individual, not to the employer. If you change companies, please make sure you update your contact information with us so other members can still contact you.
If you have changed industries and are no longer working in a qualified field of commercial real estate, your membership may not be eligible for renewal in the next term. Please contact your chapter for more details.
I have moved to a different location – what happens to my membership?
CREW memberships are based on each individual’s expertise and experience within the CRE industry; CREW memberships belong to the individual. If you change locales, make sure you update your contact information with us so other members can still contact you. Your CREW Network membership will remain intact for the remainder of the membership term.
If you relocate to an area without an existing CREW Network chapter, you may be able to renew your CREW Network membership as an at-large member for the next membership term. Contact us for information. If you relocate to an area with an existing CREW Network chapter, simply fill out the online Membership Transfer Request, and CREW Network staff will connect you with the new chapter contacts and advise if additional steps are needed to transfer your membership to the chapter.
The fine print:
CREW Network memberships expire annually on December 31, and are tied to the individual member and are therefore non-transferrable between individuals of the same company or otherwise. Membership dues are assessed annually and are non-refundable. Payments to CREW Network and/or its affiliate organizations for membership dues, event registrations, sponsorship, and other services are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes, but may be deductible as a business expense. Please consult your tax advisor.
